Smile 44 Magnum Combat Magnum, Model 69

Picked up this Model 69 at my dealer's yesterday and will shoot it early next week. I replaced the original stocks with those that came on my Model 500. They should help with recoil. Should be an "experience" to shoot!

Bill

Looks nice. I hope it is accurate.

I'm amazed at how you can balance a revolver for your photos.

Doc ... Glad to know someone actually found availability. My LGS' distributor has zero S&Ws in the queue.

I usually carry my 5" 629 when deer hunting along with a rifle.
The 69 is about 1/2 pound less to carry and 5 shots are plenty for hunting. Seriously considering one. Anxious to hear Doc44's range report.

It's not as bad to shoot as I imagined. I started out with 44 Specials and worked my way up to Mags. I didn't shoot any 300 gr bullets. I'm used to shooting my Freedom Arms 454 and am fairly recoil tolerant.

I just bought one also. I have only fired full house 240 gr. factory ammo so far. Lots of recoil and muzzle blast, but the L frame fits my small hands better than the N frame does. I'm anxious to try some .44 Specials in it. S&W just know how to do revolvers, don't they?

Just put one on layaway for a month or two today myself. Look forward to shooting it. My second .44 mag this month; and the first new handgun in 36 years.
