I hope this does not qualify as a link to an active auction. I don't want to get my hand slapped for contributing to the delinquency of a forum.

Anyway, thanks for that picture. I had just been discussing that type of gun with a friend and neither of us could decide for sure if it was ever made. I thought I had seen one but my friend did not believe it so. At my age, it is priceless to have one's rapidly deteriorating memory vindicated!

The SCSW mentions a -6 Mountain Gun that came out in 2003, but it had the lock. Yours has the 'Nike' latch on the old style frame, which puts it in the '96-'97 time frame. Must be a uncatalogued small run or a special order. (In profile, it does look a lot like a M28, albeit with a pinned front sight and much nicer finish).
