Default 317 snub nose

When did the 317 snub nose revolver get discontinued? How long was it made?

I just bought one with crimson trace grips on it, for $499. It is not pristine, but should be a great shooter, that I won't worry about. Ed

You got a very good deal. They seem to go for over $600 these days without the CT grips.

Not sure about the dates, but I think they were discontinued in the early 2000s.

Default 317 snubbie

I go to quite a few gun shows (and have for the past few years) and I bought the only one I have ever seen for sale. I remember it was $560 OTD. Glad I got it when I did for sure.

I've been looking for the "brother gun", the 317 Kit Gun w the 3 inch barrel without success. Haven't even seen one! S&W should have a 22LR snub-nose revolver. Time to bring back the 2" 63, please.

Oh well, no money in the budget right now anyway. At least the kit gun is still in the catalog. You got a great gun for a great price!

Thanks guys, I am really happy with the little gun. The fired shell envelope is dated 2002. It came with the blue plastic box and papers, the original grips and the box for the crimson trace ones. The only thing missing is the lanyard pin and the keys, no big deal.

I thought it was a good deal even without the laser grips they are the icing on the cake.

I was surprised it didn't sell quicker, I think the lack of .22 ammo on the shelves was the reason it sat so long. The shop I bought it at is the only one around that has any .22's. A brick of CCI standard velocity was $60! Luckily I still have some left.

Thanks again, Ed.
