Found a Cylinder & Slide N Frame Roller Action set - what to expect?
Got this set when I bought a box of assorted parts, odds and ends. Never heard of a Roller Action set, but it really does appear to have a teeny-tiny ball bearing. I assume C&S made these a long, long time ago.
If I install this in one of my N-frames, what should I expect in terms of DA and/or SA experience?

Those are not simple drop-in parts. Spring adjustments or swaps are part of the deal to tune the action properly.
If you do a search here on the forums, you'll find out why C&S stopped marketing them.

Another over-engineered solution for a non-existent problem.

What spring adjustments or swaps does this kit require?

There's a bit on this unit in Patrick Sweeney's Gunsmithing Pistols and Revolvers. From what he said, they were made primarily for competition and require fairly extensive handfitting.

A friend has one. It was not a difficult installation but it did not do anything for the trigger pull and feel that a good conventional action job does not do.
I once shot a Sherman Roller Bearing Python.
It was glorious... when the roller rolled. When it skidded, as it tended to do occasionally, well... As the old saw goes, one aw shucks wipes out a thousand attaboys.

I have one of those that I picked off of the prize table at the IRC one year. I have in installed it in two frames and neither one required fitting. It will make the gun DAO though.

I think a roller-ized rebound slide (like a Manurhin) would produce much of the same result with far less fitting required. I have to say, no S&W of mine has a double action that comes close to my Manurhin.

Toasted - I hope you meant "DAO" :-)
Bummer, I'm pretty sure that I don't want a DAO gun...

DAO revolvers have their place. I have a Model 64 3" RB and a Colt DS .32 both done up that way. Not that I carry either one any more, but I used to.
