Double turn line revolver
Just had Smith fix timing on my 686. Comes Fed Ex Mon. Should I be worried about a double turn line after the fix? What causes double turn lines? Thx

Only way that could happen is if the cylinder was moved forward or back enough (ratchet replacement) or the locking bolt was reworked or replaced and its high spot contacts the cylinder is differently enough to start a new line. Turn lines are just part of shooting a revolver. I wish I shot enough to make a shallow groove. LOL

I owned a 29 that had 2 turn lines. Never figured out what caused the 2nd line.
pardon the dust...

Don't have 686 back yet. Smith fixed slow timing. Fed ex delivers my gun to me on Mon. Hoping when I get it back that it does not have a double turn line. Another question. How do they fix slow timing in SA? Thx.

I wonder if some debris, caught under the cylinder could make such a mark?
