ADDED A .44RM SNUB TO THE GROUP
Took delivery yesterday--629-4 Trail Boss, Product Code 103408, shipped Dec. '97, RSR SO--Mag-Na-Ported, CCH STH & SCT, RR, WO, Hogue RTS Combats, and Lanyard Loop. One of 500 according to SCS&W. It brings my 3" .44RM revolver total to 4--very happy to acquire it. Thanks for looking. Jim

Jim,
That is an outstanding find. It seems that there are a bunch of 3" 44's showing up lately. I'm glad that you were able to snag one. Way to go!

Three inch N frames are just cool! What does the RM stand for? Obviously not Registered Magnum...

Very cool. I know these were sold as factory ported. Did it have the Mag-na-port sticker on the blue plastic case? Or was it otherwise marked on the end label?

Mag-Na-Port Sticker
Thanks. I don't know where it started out, but there is a Mag-Na-Port sticker stuck to the underside of the top half of the plastic box/case under the foam insert.

RSR had many Smiths Mag-na-ported over the years AFTER they were received from the factory. Only a few runs were Mag-na-ported by S&W BEFORE being sent out to their distributors. We know this because of the SCSW. I believe your's is one of the factory Mag-na-ported guns. It's really impossible to tell them apart because either way they were all ported by the same company: Mag-na-port in Michigan. The box end labels often don't say anything. I think the sticker might be a clue, I've only seen it on factory ported guns --- so far.
