Default 629-4 classic weird rod?

Searched and can't find any info. Took this gun apart today and found two things. The first is the hammer lock. Pic one. And second is this metal rod a about an inch long. Where does it go? Pic two.just want to make sure I assemble correctly. Thanks!!
