Is this normal?
Found this on a photo looks like the cylinder is striking the forcing cone, is this normal? I don't remember seeing it before on any other revolvers but maybe I just haven't noticed it.

It's hard to see the pic on my phone but if you could push the cylinder into the end of the barrel you have an end shake or end play or both problem. If you have access to feeler gauges you can see where it's loose by having the gun in full lock up and pulling the cylinder back all the way, measure between the cylinder and barrel, forward all the way, measure between the cylinder and barrel. And also do the same but measure between the yoke and frame too to see if there is movement there also.

Not normal, but it can occur on high mileage revolvers.
End shake issue (more likely) or possible bent crane.

It isn't mine. I was just looking through some guns that were up for sale someplace and noticed it. It caught my eye and I didn't recall seeing it before on other revolvers or at least not frequently.

If the cylinder touches the forcing cone, it can make the trigger pull on that chamber really abysmal - almost inoperable.

That looks like a one time mark, and not any continuing rubbing. I'd bet it wasn't made by the cylinder face. Check to see if there is any corresponding marks on the cylinder face.

I agree with Richard. It looks like file cuts, not rubbing.

Wouldn't it be discolored with carbon like the rest of the metal if it were just file marks?
