686 back to the Mothership
Shooting my new 686 yesterday and on several occasions it was as though the hammer or cylinder would lock up. Would open it up, turn the cylinder, and it would be good to go for another 10 rounds or so. So - FedEx picked it up tonight for a return trip to the Mothership.

Nope. Checked that - I was hoping that was the case.

Or maybe the firing pin cone? I do not remember what they are called. Anyways, I hope it was not something that broke off in the gun because the anti-MIM guys are going to go ape .....!

Bought a new 29-10, 4 years ago, was ok for the first 70 rds, then everything went south. Thumb piece wouldn't return after closing the cylinder, hence, you couldn't cock it or pull the trigger without holding it back. Sent it in. They replaced the ejector rod and ejector and retimed it. All is well now after 1200 rds.

I had a similar problem last year...although it only occurred with 158gr. Hornady XTP. The return experience was smooth. They replaced the hand and the extractor.
