Default Recently acquired M17-4

Recently inherited a super clean M17-4 from the 80s (serial#s 92120-81K0037) blued with stock wood grips. Had never seen or heard of one of these babies but was quickly schooled by more knowledgeable friends.

Finally shot it a few times and am in love! Beautifully constructed classic S&W revolver..shoots like a dream and is a keeper for sure. Trigger is amazingly light as well!?

Anyone know where to get quality wood grips for this model? The stock grips don't fit my hand so well. Thanks!

PS- sorry for the ****** pics..learning some techniques!

I picked up this 17-4 with the original numbered magnas...didn't work for me. So I went to S&W on line store and got these...much nicer!

Is that an aftermarket front sight on yours? Thought the long tubes all came with Patridge sights.

culinagrips.com has offerings with much better contours than anything offered by Smith. If you're fine with spending more,Nills are the way to go.

Thanks All!
DR505..those grips look excellent and are just what what I was leaning towards..and I like that they have the S&W badge. I've had a 686 for over 20yrs and might try custom wood on it as well. Damn if you guys don't take great pics of your guns..I'm taking notes..

Default It may be..

It may be a replaced front sight..although it doesn't look altered. My father-in-law loved to 'mess-with or customize' everything. This one is from the 80s I think. Still remains one of the best out of the inherited collection..and what a gas to shoot. Gotta find some better grips though. The stock grips are called Magnas I gather..
