Default Just found a good looking S&W 60, no dash at pawnshop

Barrel is not pined in but not bad at all. Tight lockup.

$350 (tax inc.) Now I slapped lay-away on it.

So is that market value?

Thanks.

Well, just about any good condition M60 should be worth $350 or more.

If it's not a pinned barrel, then it must have been born in 1982 or later.

Having a serial number would help with the DOB lookup.

Condition is very important, which is hard to assess without a picture.

Having the original grips also ups the value some. As does having the box and original brochures etc.

What is the barrel length?

That's a good price, for these parts anyway.
There are tons of post here so you can read up on them.
There are also collectors here who have forgotten more than I will ever know and they will be along directly.

Serial number will allow the experts to tell you almost exactly when the revolver was shipped from the factory.

$350 out the door is a very good price for a good condition Model 60 here in Charlotte. At that price, I'd probably snag it despite having several already and no particular need for another. Can't have too many concealable, durable, J frame snubs.

It's a 2 inch snub. I got the receipt with the serial number but wife is asleep... no go in there to get it!

Dunno if they are original grips but the ones on it are regular S&W RB J frame wood grips.

I have the stainless 640 Centennial .38 and a stainless 638 Bodyguard in .38 also. I don't have a 60 in my stable so...

And considering my Airweight .38s cost me $350.. I figure it wasn't a bad price.

It also has a thin front sight!

More info tomorrow!

Don't know how you can go wrong for $350.
