Default Model 617 - All's Well That Ends Well

Greetings,

Placed an order for the M617 at the local gun store and had to wait about 4 months for them to get it. Took possession and fired 30 rounds thru it and at that point decided to check the cylinder timing. Was that ever off! Called S&W and described the problem and was promptly sent a prepaid FedEx shipping label. Sent the gun back to them. Took slightly less then 3 weeks turn around and received the gun a couple of days ago. The cylinder and hand were replaced and the timing/lockup are spot on. It would have been nice if the gun had come from the factory like that originally but Smith & Wesson made good on the warranty repair and that works for me. It is one accurate shooter to boot.

One happy 617 owner,

Jim
