Default Please educate me here .......

The model 10 is a .38 Special, K frame. The model 10-6 was the prototype .357 magnum which evolved into the model 13, also a K frame.

So ..... if a model 13, K frame is capable of handling "a certain amount" of .357's, why is it in question (many times) that a model 64, being the stainless version of a model 10 is capable, "or not" of handling +P .38 Specials ..... or for that matter +P+ .38 Specials?

You can run 38 Special+P in a M10-6 with no problem. I think the FBI used mostly 38 SPL in their M13s even though they were Magnum revolvers.

There is no such question. This concern in several forms comes up again...and again ...and again. It never, ever stops. One frequent poster here calls it "Beating a Dead Horse." But it's worse than that.

Metallurgy. Maybe it's because carbon steel is stronger than stainless.

An Engineer's take on S&W.
