Default Shot my .32mag 432PD WooHoo! Review & Range Report - Plus M&P340 Comparison

I'm a bit of a gun slut, and fall in love pretty easy. The 432PD 32 H&R Mag is no exception.

When I eagerly opened the package containing my new 432PD two weeks ago, my eyes almost popped out of my head when I swung the cylinder open and saw SIX holes as opposed to the normal five holes you see on most snubby J Frames. It was love at first sight for sure.

I brought the little 432PD out to the range today. I am so impressed with this little bugger.

First the weight is perfect. 13.1 ozs unloaded and 15.4 loaded with SIX 100gr Georgia Arms hollow points. Which, by the way, travel just under 1000fps from the short barreled 432.

15.4 OZS LOADED:

If I could choose the perfect recoil for a J Frame snubby, it would without a doubt be the recoil exhibited by the 432PD. Not to hard, but not too soft, a little snappy, but returns to POA quickly for the next shot. The muzzle blast is fairly mild compared to a 357 snubby, but still a tad stout. Simply, the recoil and muzzle blast is pretty much as good as you can hope for in a little snubby that shoots a decent defensive loading. It is actually enjoyable to shoot. One would have no problem putting a couple of hundred rounds through this little gem in a single range session.

The 432 is very accurate when firing six shots in fairly rapid succession:

If it wasn't for the sights, the 432PD would be the ultimate snubby J Frame in my opinion. The problem with the sights is the same problem I have with all standard snubby J Frames...the black front and rear sights provide absolutely zero contrast and blend right in with most targets.

That's why the M&P340 is still the ultimate J Frame straight from the factory. The XS Big Dot front sight and the deep U Notch rear gutter sight are the perfect defensive/combat sight combination in my opinion. The M&P340 rear is so much better than the shallow square notch found on all standard snubby J Frames. The weight of the M&P340 at 13.5ozs is perfect as well thanks to its Scandium frame.

The Excellent M&P340 XS Big Dot Front Sight and U Notch Rear Gutter Sight:

The M&P340's excellent sights vastly improves snubby aiming and accuracy:

The 432PD 32Mag is my 2nd favorite J Frame behind my M&P340. I now have 8 J Frames. Me and my buddy just picked up a silver 337PD to get me to the number 8 mark

I also spent a little time with my super accurate 686PC 2.5" today. Love this gun. I know I'm a gun slut

Me too.

There is pros and cons to every platform and caliber.

Some people fail to admit it. They may have less ammunition to buy but, I'm having more fun.

The 340 M&P is an outstanding J-Frame. It will always be at the top of the list for me. I have even thought about picking up a spare.

Nice review & good shooting with your 32 mag. You were surprised to find out that the 432pd is a 6 round gun & I am surprised that your new co-owned 337pd is silver. They don't exist to my knowledge. Have you seen it yet? My 337 is silver & says 337ti.

You should do an expansion test.

I love my 432PD and 396 Mountain Lite 44. They are great examples of why just a little less can be more.

Good Review!

32 long HBWCs almost make the 432 a target pistol. No recoil either.

Yes it is a 337ti. I just use PD interchangeably which is incorrect.

Thanks for the review, HarrishMasher. I'm becoming interested in the 32 magnum and, ultimately, the 327 magnum. Your review is helpful to me.

I missed a 432PD on Gunbroker yesterday :-(

I already have a SP101 in 32 H&R, but an airweight J frame in 32 is at the top of my list.
