How about a new school N frame beauty contest?
The old guns shouldn't have all the fun.
2009 Nickel 22-4
Original grips:

20140915_101230 by Slick_Rick77, on Flickr
Vintage Jay Scott grips I whittled into something more shooter, carry, and moon clip friendly.

Carries quite nicely in a Desantis thumb break scabbard.

The new ones get little love here, so if yours looks good to you or there's a nice picture of it, let's see it.

I'm proud of my new school 627 Pro, even though it comes with the lock, MIM parts and an unconventional slab-side barrel. Some call it an abomination, but I love it and will never part with it.

Here’s my 27-7 built by the Performance Center in 2000. One of the best revolvers I’ve ever owned.

The 625 PC guns are easily the best looking modern Smiths IMO (save for the grips) and those eight shot 27's have me contemplating trades and such. They look a little more 28 than 27, but what cool guns.

A little humble compared to some of these beauties posted already, but nevertheless, my favorite N-frame of all time. I once had a 1918 built M1917, but was forced to sell it (a rather tragic story, but I had no choice) and I decided to replace it with this 22-4. I really wanted one of those case hardened versions. I've thought about sending mine to Turnbull to have mine done, but can't decide; I really like it as is

Its beautiful just like that. I like the case hardened look on hammers and triggers, I haven't made up my mind about case hardening on an entire gun. I am on the fence.
Your Smith, looks the way a blued Smith should look.

Looks like you will need to explicitly define what you had in mind for "new guns". I took it as post ILS introduction under current management...the series that "can't get no respect" but might actually be great guns of which owners are proud.

The lock, non pinned, non recessed, frame mounted firing pin, MIM, and stainless guns all get a good amount of disregard on this site.
But, anything that fits in this forum (80's and up) is fine by me.

Just for the record, the N frame I was forced to give up. I guess this qualifies as old. I'm a big fan of it, but I'm a big fan of "new" as well. I am as fond as my 22-4 that I replaced my M1917 with, but I still wish I could have kept that old warhorse!

How could anyone call this beauty an "abomination"?
Or this beauty...

OK, I'll come in and play.
Here are my S&W revolvers:
First up is my old 27-2. It doesn't actually qualify for this thread except that the stocks it is wearing came off of a 29-3 I no longer have:
Next is my 50th Anniversary of the 357 Model 27-3 I bought a few months ago. It is still unfired except for the 3 test rounds that S&W fired in it. I have it hid from myself in the top of the closet to help me resist shooting it:
Finally, here is my 629-3 I bought off GB on 10/31 and got in last week. I am quickly falling in love with it. It's not dressed up but I do foresee some nice Ahrends Retro Targets in the near future for it:

Ok, I'll play. My Model 58-1 that I have the princely sum of $550.00 in. Try that with any old 58. I deactivated my lock by removing the flag that pops up next to the hammer, and added a T grip adapter a short while back. I always wanted a .41 Magnum, and this was by far the best way financially for me to get one. Gun actually has a nice smooth trigger pull, and the fit and finish are second to none. I like the grooved trigger as well; another nice old school touch.

But, anything that fits in this forum (80's and up) is fine by me.

I agree, someone is missing out on some fine pistols IMHO.

The Model 58 that S&W was making for awhile was my other favorite N-frame; I think they placed that 4" HB version in the "classics" section. I assumed S&W would keep it on the lineup, so now I'll need to find one on GB or somewhere. I like that "service" or old school M&P look and would it just seems fitting for the .41 magnum.

WOW, am I impressed. Nice guns guys. Just bought into a collection that has been sitting in a climate controlled safe for over 40 years. Got 2 model 24-3, 1 with 3 inch barrel and round butt fingergroove grips, second with 4 in barrel, square butt, and 3 T's. A model 19 with 6 inch barrel and 3 T's. and finally a model 37 with 3 inch barrel in blue finnish. All are NIB. Can't wait to go shoot them. Got a couple feral hogs that need killing. I think the model 24-3 will do the job. What do you think?

Congratulations on your find. I hope you got good deals on them.
We are lucky that we don't have feral hogs, or really a whole lot of other nasty critters here.
The 4" 24 with Buffalo Bore .44 specials will get the job done.
Happy Hunting!
