Just wanted to post up some gun porn ...
I put Kurac/Culina Circassian walnut grips on my new (to me) S&W Model 29 Mountain Gun. Absolutely first rate, and stunningly beautiful!! First off, the fit of the grip halves to the round butt frame was flawless ... and easy. Second, the fit to my hand is everything I had hoped for ... and more! I love a beefy grip, and Culina grips have it in spades! Third, and for me the best part, is that there is no gap ... it's like I sent them the 29 and they made custom grips. Simply outstanding! I had a set of a competitor's custom grips in Cordia/Bocote on another Model 29, and while the wood was exceptional in grain, there was a noticeable misfit gap where the two halves came together. Not so with Kurac/Culina grips.
On the customer service side, they are absolutely first rate -- great communication and prompt response. I chose pre-finished grips, but they have everything from basice service grips to museum-quality wood.
On the S&W Forum, John goes by the handle Kurac, and you can find his website here:
