Default Kleen Bore Lead Away on Bead Blast Finish?

Hi All,
I wanted to ask if anyone has experience of using Kleen Bore Lead Away Cloths on Bead Blast Finishes?
I have seen online how well these cloths work on Stainless finishes. I was wondering if these cloths may take away the bead blast finish?
Any advice is appreciate.
Thanks.

I wouldn't do it- the lead away cloths are abrasive, and shouldn't be used on blue finishes, or finishes that will be damaged by polishing.

That said, in the bore is ok, and some careful use on the front of cylinder to clean up blast rings might not be harmful either. But, I would not use them on a finish like a bead blast. I use non-chlorinated brake cleaner and a soft cloth for clean up on my bead blasted finishes, or if they're really grubby, maybe a brush with some deodorized kero or mineral spirits, then the brake cleaner. HTH

Thanks so much for the feedback 2Hawk!! I have been a bit weary on the subject. I'll keep that cloth I got for cutting squares to go down the barrel and the face of the cylinder only and use smooth cloths for polishing. Thanks again!!

I use a lead away cloth VERY lightly on the front face of the cylinder on my 686SSR. I've never had any issues with it and it helps clean up quite a bit. I usually wipe it gently just after shooting before even leaving the range.

Thanks 158 Grain! I like the idea of wiping the front of the cylinder while still at the range and possibly the front of the bore in those hard to reach places. This is my first revolver and I love it so want to make sure I'm taking care of it properly.

If the lead away cloths are abrasive...is it wise to run them down the barrel ? Seems to me it would prematurely wear the rifling.

Ouch! Did you find out the hard way? Your handle indicates otherwise.

Lead Away cloth will polish a bead blasted finish. I would not use it on the cylinder face. If you insist on making it look brand new you can build a small cheap soda blaster and it will not hurt the finish and the gun will almost look unfired.
