Question Question on presentation case

Hoping this is the right area to post this in as I don't believe it's very old but was wondering if anyone could tell me the time frame in which this case was used and what model S&W it might have shipped with? This is the only photo I have at the moment?

It appears to be a modern style that S&W sells w/ just a padded, generic interior in which you can display any gun.
I don't think any gun was shipped in it

I think VM nailed it. My local shop had a few last year for $37.50 each.

Generic fit, more or less, but loosely set up for a 6 1/2 " N frame. Nice box. I bought the last he had, and they have not been re-stocked.

Default Case

IMHO I believe this is the case that was used for the 50th Anniversary model 29-10 6 1/2" ! The interior was a deep blue velvet material fit loose on a 6 1/2" formed base! I have seen many of these cases for sale! S&W probably order a number from a manufacturer and did not sell as many guns as the number of cases ordered

I just bought a new 29 classic and while I have to wait to pick up the gun, the lg gave me the box to take home so it wouldn't get damaged in any way. I would like to find one to put my 27 classic in. The presentation cases available on s&w website are different . Correct on the velvet being loose and it does have the grooves for the tools. I did email the manufacturer but have not heard back.
why would the website models be different and this style only with a purchase ?
Thanks

It's BS boys, all BS! I'm wrong(first time this year)! The 50th Anniversary case has two latches, "50th Anniversary" above the S&W logo on the top, and the dates "1956-2006" & "44 Magnum" below the S&W logo! I have no idea of when the above case was used and for what reason!

Two guns I purchased in late 1970s perhaps early 80s came in presentation cases such as that. One was a model 27-2 and one was a model 25-2.
