Default Love that 986

The more I shoot the 986 the better I like it. This L frame has become a favorite. The trigger is super smooth in double action, sights are easy to see although I think I may go to a gold bead or maybe a green insert (older eyes). It is very accurate and fast to recover when shooting double taps. Smith definitely has a winner with this revolver. The ammo doesn't seem to matter, it likes 115, 124 and 147 grain bullets.

I just bought one today. I really wanted the 929 but no luck. I really hope its as nice as you say. I bought it for a target gun.

On Monday I picked up a 986 as well. The 929 would have been nice (if you could find one), but I like the look and feel of the L frame. The gun balances and swings well. My only complaint is the star was machined and not deburred at all. It could have cut you open without any problem. The star also has chips out of it from running the tooling too fast in hard material. It also wiggles in the cylinder, so the timing is off without a case in the chamber. All in all, I love the gun. Maybe I'll brave the single digit temperatures and try it out this weekend. Any handload recipes you'd like to share?
