Default Issue with 442 trigger

Hi,

Took my 442 to the range today and fired around 100 rounds. I have it home and I am dry firing with snap caps. I'm noticing that the very beginning of the trigger pull feels like it is sticking, then it breaks free and I can continue with the complete pull of the trigger.

Has anyone experienced anything similar. Should I take it apart and clean the internals?

When I bought the gun I never did remove any of the factory grease on the innards, if there was any there ImageUploadedByTapatalk1423876782.033087.jpgImageUploadedByTapatalk1423876816.250038.jpgto begin with.

On another note I purchased some testors model paint and painted the front sight a nice orange. What a difference already.

Disregard. I stripped it down, gave the insides a good cleaning and lube. Problem solved. I should have done that in the first place before posting.

Welcome to the forum!

It wouldn't hurt to take off the sideplate and look inside there to see if there's any grit or debris in there. The first time I opened my 642 I watched a youtube video and it went fine. Just follow the instructions.

The 642/442 triggers aren't very good, but yours sounds like it might be some other issue like the cylinder is binding or something. Check that the cylinder isn't binding anywhere.

Anyhoo, I'm sure you'll figure it out. Welcome to the forum!

I doubt if it is grease. I would think it will go away with use.

Thanks. It was dirty and it was dry as a bone in there.
