Default 638-3 Part Question

So I just removed the internal lock from my 638-3. I had this one part left over and I'm not sure where it goes. It went back together fine without it and functions fine. Can anyone tell me where it goes and what it does?

Ok, looks like it was the hammer block. I have successfully put it back in. The video I watched was for a 642 so that would explain why I missed it.

You wouldn't notice it missing until you drop a loaded gun on the hammer. (Like on to the hard deck of a Battleship ). Then it might get your attention.
