OK, I'll play... 1990 Accusport run 1 of 500. Model 29-5. 7.5" barrel, Endurance, unfluted , recessed cylinder, sq. butt, no MIM parts. Threw on a Burris Fastfire 3 w/3MOA dot & Allchin mount. It came with the original box, cleaning kit, paperwork, etc..and Hogue grips, which I put back in the box and installed a set of figured football targets...Bluing is beautiful and can't wait to clean her up & try the wax routine....The barrel's over-clocked just a hair, but I was breaking clay birds on a hillside at 100 yds. today w/handloads, off a bench/sandbag.. Guess even the "special run" guns didn't escape the over/under clocking issue....pity

Enjoy.

This is a Model 27-2, "S" serial number from about 1967. While that would put it outside the OP's parameters, this gun was refinished by S&W in 2013, so it is an example of S&W's current bluing.

Dang nice looking firearm. Great bluing. I'm afraid all my S&W revolvers are SS, so I can only view this thread...

What? Don't like the new blue? Due to S&W scratching the gun on a warranty issue while new I sent it back and they reblued it. With the double polish it's the prettiest blue of any gun I have owned and that's Pythons and P&R guns.

These 16-4's from 1989 are pretty good examples of the "newer" blue finish...

My 2007 Lew Horton Performance Center model 27-8. One of my favorites. I recently changed the rear sight blade from a .146" to a .126" because I hate Six O'clock Hold.
