I think I have the twin to yours. Same box too. It might be my most prized piece. It hangs out with it's 2 cousins, a 4" "S" series 57, and 6" 57 I bought new around 1980. I kinda like 41's.

I just got a 3" 657 with the original combat grips, and love it. The only problem is that my wife decided she likes it too. I may not get to keep it!

I'd love to find one at a good price so, I could tell you how much I like 'em.

.41 mag is my favorite caliber! My first handgun purchase was a brand new no dash model 57, with presentation case, which I bought back in 1980 or so for $189.00. I liked it so much that I bought an identical gun a couple of years later.

I then added every rendition of Marlin 1894's in .41 mag made...

Two years ago I found a matching pair of unfired 6" model 657's from a collection being sold. They were listed for the pricely sum of $550.00; purchased for $499.00.

The 6" 657 has become my favorite range/hunting gun. Great shooter!
