1994 is very late for a no dash 586. Also, the grips indicate a much earlier time frame as well. Are they original? Can you provide a serial number, that will help with the date? If you have the box, that may help too.

the date was provided by S&W when I called them and gave them the serial number, I had the same thought about it being a 1994. The grips are not from the gun, it had pachmayer grips

Check that dash number again and ditto on the s/n. What is it? I do see your M586 has an adjustable trigger stop. The type that requires removal of the side plate for adjustment.
A pre MIM M586 in high condition is a very desirable S&W. I think $600 to $750 is in ballpark. $50 more for the correct box.

That SN would make it late 1983, which would be consistent with it being a "no dash". A 1994 gun would be a -4. Not sure how S&W would make that mistake. I think the Kernel has the right price range - low end for a quick sale, higher if you're prepared to wait.

From about a week ago. Mine was 1983 also. Welcome to the forum lot of good help and people here. Cheers Theo
586 No Dash SOLD and 586-5 SOLD PF
Just noticed you have the football cutout on yours. That may ad a bit to the price. Like the Kernel said box and stuffing too. Mine was the gun only.

Wow yours is only about 50 away from Phantoms. Probably sat on the same rack at the factory, or close . Welcome from the wild west of Arizona to Queensland

Late 1980 to early 1981. The SCSW says AAB9378 was made in April of 1981. The first production L-frame was an AAA0000 in 1980. I think they started slow and ramped up production. So it took them awhile to get thru the triple A's. Then they really started cranking them out.
