Default Revolvers back from the gunsmith

After not having both of my revolvers For 10 weeks, I finally got them back from my local gunsmith. The following work was done to each:
Model 65
Chamfered cylinders
Replaced 4" barrel with a 3" barrel
Had red ramp installed on the plain ramp
Smoothed the trigger edges

Model 686
Chamfered cylinders
Replaced 6" barrel with a 4" barrel
( When I got it back I installed a Wilson Combat spring kit, and it now has a 7.75 lb trigger pull in double action)

Nice work. That 65 sure looks sweet with the 3" barrel.

Congrats on lasting the wait. If you'll share, who's your gunsmith?

Why not round butt the 65? Looks "off" with a square butt and 3"
Barrel.

Nothing better than a 3" K-frame, but the 686 looks awesome too! Very nicely done......but I agree on the Round Butt, that should be next!

Rog, I have been considering some of those "upgrades" to my M65-3. I noticed your M65 has a pinned barrel. Is that original or did the smith do that because of the barrel change? Also, I didn't think they chamfered the ejector when they do the charge holes. Have you had any difficulties with it failing to hold on and eject spent brass?
Thanks

Thanks Joe, I so badly wanted to hit the range to check out the 686, but our roads are ice ridden at the moment.

I actually prefer square butts because they fit my hand better, and the appearance. If the stinking state of Maryland ever becomes a shall issue state, then perhaps I'll consider buying a j frame, or round butt K frame.

That's the way my 65 came. Even the original 4" barrel was pinned. I've only managed to shoot about 50 rounds through it and had 1 round get hung up, but am not sure if the ejector was the cause.

I especially would appreciate the smoothed edges on the trigger.

I wish I could find a gs in the Philadelphia area who can do that type of work. I don't think we have one.

Thanks for posting.

Nice work! Great looking guns.

I think I might chamfer the charge holes in my revolver cylinders, mostly to make them easier to clean. I could round the edges of my triggers a little too. That's a good idea. Both things that I could easily do. Changing barrels would be a bit above my pay grade.
