The thing is about the BMT is it only does one style of clip where are Revolver Supplies Moon Clip Loader can do many by only changing arbors at $5 each

Similar versatility with changing arbors, fast mooning and demooning at a lower price is the Moon Clip Tool

I've had an early version for years.

The leverage makes quick use.

I highly recommend the BMT loader/unloader. I have one for both my 627 and my 610. Yes it is more expensive than the other tools, but it is faster and easier. A quick turn of the wrist and the moonclip is loaded or unloaded. This is especially important if you get into competitive shooting where you need to empty and reload your moonclips between stages.(Don't say you will never get into competitive shooting - that's what I said - then the bug bit.) They are very durable, and trouble free. I tried the brand X moonclip tool, then went to the BMT tool. Since then,I always recommend the BMT. It's like switching from a Chevy to a Porsche.

The BMT is great! Have one for the 929 and the 625. The Chevy Porsche analogy is a good one. Personally am not, yet, into competition but the easy and speed of these loaders is fantastic.

I'll second what 5Wire said. The moon clip tool does everything you will need. Quality product. Absolutely top notch customer service and many extras such as custom made arbors for odd moon clips.

I sent a clip from my Ruger Speed Six 9mm to have a custom arbor made. (already had the tool for my 625) Got the arbor and clip back within the week. Cost for the custom made arbor was the same as an in stock one.

Reportedly there are counterfeit tools being marketed that look similar to the original.

Default BMT

If the eighty dollars is not a big deal, you'll appreciate the BMT.

Another +1 for the BMT. Easiest for loading AND unloading! A little kid can do it without issues!!

FYI: if you have any arthritis issues (as I do, very badly) in the hands/fingers, you'll appreciate the BMT even more!

As far as unloading goes, I've always used "homebrewed" jobs. The 625s have a unit made out of a bit of hex barstock. Closed ended so I can collect the fired cases inside.

Unloader on left. Thought I had a better photo, but it's not in a logical location...

The 9mms got a quick and dirty demooner fabricated from a 1/2" copper pipe stub. It easily holds eight empty cases:

Had to mash the open end a little to fit between the cases, but wasn't sure a 3/8" tube would have worked. Spur of the moment purchase whilst doing errands at the hardware store. No planning involved at all!

May add a little tool dip, but it works fine as is.

Before I bought my "Mooncliptool", I had made my own 9mm tool from a .308 case, a little sturdier than the copper tubing. The dowel rod handle makes it easier to use.

We are all at different places in our lives; age, financially and "diy" or just buy the needed tool mindset. I am a BMT guy as I look at loading 50 moon clips, not 300 rounds. 50 turns of the knob VS 300 individual rounds snapped into the clip. What ever your choice is your are enjoying the hobby...
