Oh, THAT's going on my short list! Great looking 17!
Yeah, like the Kernel said, put a set of nice Combats on that and it'll be even sweeter!
(Those Nills look great too!)

The gun was NOS when I purchased it,so yes,it originally had combats on it.
Though combats are my favorite factory grip,I find them a little coarse in design ,just like every other factory grip.I'm not a box guy either,so that was sold too.Yeah,I know-heresy to some of you. ;-) Virtually every Smith that I've owned, get the same treatment-Nills and a Boyt rug.
If memory serves, they went to members here at a fair price, which went a long way to covering the Nill cost.
Selling factory stocks and replacing them with Nills or Kuracs,(which incorporate a palm swell), is a no brainer to me.Sooo much better.

Bam- they started with the 17-6 for the full lug, some 17-6's shipped with the no lug barrel:
Great shooter

Think they came out during my USPSA years...... not much call for a heavy .22 LOL
Love my 4" 617 but they are an odd duck of sorts...... heavy for what they are...... mine was gotten as an understudy for my 4" 686....in my PPC days.
If I need/want a .22 in the woods.... it's an 18 or 34.
