Question M631 32H&R Magnum?

With the sub 2" barrel and standard hammer. What do we know about these? I'm looking at one and realize I know absolutely nothing about them.

Probably a pretty valuable little J-frame, but I wouldn't hazard a guess at price in today's market. I have the 4-inch adjustable sight version and would hate to part with it. It works fine and is a good shooter. Just wish mine had a square-butt frame...

I have never heard anyone complain about the 631s - other than the relative scarcity of them.

The 631's were manufactured in 1990 in 3 versions: 2" fixed sight, 2" fixed sight Lady Smith, and 4" with adjustable sights. Total production was 5474, and of those only 190 were of the 2" non-Lady Smith version, so it is by far the most scarce. Current prices for that one probably run somewhere between $1000 and $1500, depending on condition and box, papers, etc. Then of course you will occasionally find one listed on GB for $2500...

Product code for that non-Lady Smith 2-inch was 103664 IINM. You can use that as a search term. "631" alone is an unsearchable term on this forum. The search engine, for some reason, ignores three number sequences.
