Default Problem with new Classic 27-9

Took the new revolver to the range today. I guess I am Smith QA again. SA no issues. Double action intermittently the cylinder rotates, but the hammer would not cock and fire. Cock the action SA and bang. Anyone have an idea as to what the problem might be? Thx.

Sounds like you short stroked the action. Let the trigger fully reset before pulling again.

If the trigger is fully resetting there might be a problem with the way the d/a sear was fitted or maybe the spring? If it's not resetting all the way on its own it might be the trigger return spring or one of the pivots etc. It's really hard to diagnose these things over the net. Since it's a new gun, if it were me I'd probably just send it back in and have them fix it on their dime......Actually I'd probably pull it apart and have a look see, but that's just me and nobod ever said I do things right.
