Default Model 29 50th Anniversary Finish Question

Hi all. I was hoping someone could shed some light on the factory finish on the Model 29-10 50th anniversary revolver. I admittedly don’t have a lot of experience with S&W’s blued revolvers (other than I love them), so my question is whether or not the blued finish on the 50th anniversary model, manufactured in 2006, is different than the 29-10’s being produced today. I just purchased this gun used and the finish is a VERY high polished bright blue. I don’t have another standard model 29-10 to compare to, but I do have a new 586-8 (2014 manufacture) that is darker in bluing and nowhere near as bright. The 50th that I have, compares to Royal Blue finish on my Colt Python, but is even a bit lighter - sort of blue/silverfish color. The S&W press release/ model announcement in 2005 for the 50th Anniversary called it a “polished blue finish”. The pistol that I received from a GunBroker auction has an amazing, essentially flawless glass finish except on the cylinder where the front half has a nice gloss on it and the back half has lost its gloss and is just dull matte blue now. A little gun wax makes it look better but you can still see it doesn’t match. Not sure what happened to it, but I want it to match, so I’m looking to have S&W re-blue the cylinder, which they said they could do, but I wanted to first understand what the original finish was. Perhaps the finish on this gun was polished by the original owner and overpolished on the cylinder? Thank you for your help.
