Drove to the city today and went by sporting goods store and saw a brand new S&W M-29. Even though it had an internal firing pin and, of course, "the lock" it was a pretty nice gun. Felt good, looked good and even my wife liked the feel of it. Wasn't as heavy as she was expecting. Had a square butt too (didn't know they went back to square but in their revolvers, that's a big + for me) Even had wooden target grips. Odd thing about that was, the target grips were VERY thin. Felt even thinner than magna grips.
Anyway, it looked like it would make a very decent concealed carry gun with that 4 inch barrel. A .44 Magnum round will do pretty much anything you need it to do and do it very well.
However...the price was like $1047.00 Not that I could buy that right away, but it was still one of the more interesting thing coming off the S&W assembly line in the past 15 years.
