What year was the blue plastic case first used for J frames. Thanks to all who respond.

I have a 1999 649-3 that came with this style case, and the newer style case in the 2nd picture is from a 2010 638-3.

January of 1994 is the earliest standard production J-frame I've seen in the 1st gen plastic case. But some Performance Center guns were shipping in a slightly different style blue plastic case a few years before that. There was a transition period of over a year where both the cardboard one-piece box and the plastic case were used simultaneously.
