It's a 1983 gun (modern), so I believe the consensus around here is go ahead shoot some Plus P, but a steady diet will take its toll in premature wear and tear ("shooting it loose" before its time). It won't just blow up on you though.

My "advice" to you would be to use the spell check before you post.

Default Since it's all steel.....

Besides being 'modern with a model number' all steel revolvers are good to go with plus p. Get into alloys and air weights and all of that, the bets are off.

Practicing with standard loads primarily and function/zero checks with +P is commonly done and puts minimal extra stress on the gun.

Practice with standard velocity ammo and load +P for SD (and shooting a few for familiarization) will be fine. For that gun I'd say use the Speer +P 135 grain Gold Dot Short Barrel load for SD purposes. It is a very very good load and won't beat the gun up for a few during practice sessions. Also very controllable and reliable.

Buffalo Bore's 158 grain +P LSWCHP-GC's are also an excellent load but I would not fire too many through the earlier M60's - still a few won't blow it up or cause harm.
