If those K/L diamond targets are genuine, aren't they worth a couple hundred dollars themselves?
It makes me wonder how they ended up on a modern revolver.
Either way, a very nice no-dash for the price.

I'm a grip junkie so do it fairly often.
The pictures aren't good so I'm hoping you don't have much ground shrinkage when you receive them.
I'm a bit worried of the checkering wear for you.
I really hope I am wrong.
Regardless it is a nice gun with nice stocks

Probably made between 1963 and 1966 ,
Right side appears orangeish so might be GA...the other is dark and almost looks like Rosewood... almost,
Could even be Walnut....hard to tell with those pics.
Agreed the checkering is worn and they may have been refinished again cant tell from pics... either way they can be restored just wont be original if that matters to you.
BTW is that a yellow FS insert ? cool

I would have done that deal. I have stocks that are more appropriate for your 586 and have an older model 15 that would look good with those diamonds.

I bought this Model 15-2, because of the diamond target grips.
Same for this 19 (no dash)
And normally I don't care for stainless guns, I couldn't pass this one (64-3) because of the grips.
And more importantly than buying, I buy and sell guns all the time, but these are ones I'm planning to keep.

Yep, guilty a time or two myself... Prizes that come to mind: a M25 and pre-26 with Cokes, a 1917 with pre-war large medallion Magnas, and a 6" M66 with smooth Rosewood Targets (my only pair of Rosewood stocks).
But recently...I really haven't seen much. Maybe it's just me, but I think the price increase trend has ramped up dealers & scalpers harvesting efforts.

That is a nice 586, and the stocks are a big bounus.
A almost bought a 629 for the Combat grips (but, they would have stayed on it.) Looking at the asking prices for 3"ers, I realize I should have bought that one..... It would have been less than $900 OTD. But, it was about three years ago.

All in all not bad.
Stocks/grips pretty good.
586 slicked up nice and locks up
like a tank added some Grashorns....
