Default Revolver carbine conversion

First of all I'm new to this forum. I've been lurking for a while and have found tons of valuable information so thank you very much for that.

I have a model 327 and I'd like to convert it to a revolver carbine. I understand many of the issues associated with revolver to long gun conversion. I get that the barrel needs to be 16 inches or longer and I understand the overall length requirements. I'm also familiar with the gas diversionn issues and I'm even familiar with the order in which the conversion needs to be performed so as to prevent it from ever becoming an SBR at any point.

My question is this, can anyone point me to a barrel manufacturer or gunsmith that can provide me with a 16 inch barrel to be fit onto my model 327 revolver? I'm in the Los Angeles area.

Welcome to the forum.

Given that the 327 has a two-piece barrel, I suppose you will need both a barrel insert and shroud. I wonder too whether a scandium frame can actually support a 16" barrel (the weight and harmonics might create a whole different set of stresses). I suspect it would be a lot easier to convert a steel 627 or an old 28.

I agree. This sounds like a bad idea.

Which 327 do you have? What is the original barrel length?
I sure hope you post a pic of your gun when it's done.
Work in progress pics would be great.
Good luck.

You might want to consider a Dan Wesson, they are already set up for the interchangeable barrels, and there is an outfit called EWK that makes replacement barrels out to 10" and may be able to provide the 15" as DW did years ago.
