617 tight chamber's
My 617-6 has suffered from sticky chambers since new. After 30/40 rds it get's tuff to eject the empty's. Happens with all types of ammunition. Is this something that can be polished out?
How should i proceed?

Interesting, as my mid 80s M17 suffers the same problem. I can make it to about 50-60 rounds before it gets real bad. About 8 years ago when I bought a new CZ youth 22 for my son I went out and purchased a bunch of different ammo to try out. I then included my M17 in that experiment. I actually found that Wolf target ammo brass actually stuck in the cylinder after firing.
Never thought about reaming it out............................

If it where me----I would try some of that lead away cloth (the yellow cloth stuff) on the cylinders. It is is slightly abrasive and it may smooth out the cylinders a bit.
I used to be involved with a bunch of 617's having 300 to 400 rounds shot in one day. I do not recall what dash number but they were purchased around 2002.
Some of the pistols would lead up quick and had to be scrubbed during the day. All of the pistols had to be cleaned well before the next use or all of them would begin to keywhole before the day was up.
A engineer friend of mine said the stainless tended to be rougher than chrome moly so the leading.
After a time ---keywholling would not occur before we were finished and I think the cleaning finally helped the bore but i cannot attest to this certainly---not enough good science involved here.
The cylinders behaved a little better too.

I have a model 94 with sticky chambers that I will test this on before my 617. I was just thnking polishing it out with some Mothers Mag polish or something really fine like that.
Honestly make me queasy messing with the chambers on my 617.

Brownell's sells the correct reamer. The job is messy because one must use prolific amounts of cutting oil. With the Brownells reamer and good cutting oil most anyone that is handy and has good hand strength can do it. I have done so on 5 or 6 M 617s both 6 chamber and 10 chamber cylinders. It had never failed to stop the problem you describe. It has never hurt the accuracy of one of those handguns. AND in a couple the accuracy improved. If you decide to do the job (you should), PM me and I will talk you thru the job.
