Information on S&W 625 wanted
I've read some of the previous threads on 625's and even bought a 625-3 3". I think I'm getting the idea a 4" version might be a good fit for me and maybe even in the Long Colt version? I'm wondering what the differences are between the PC and JM version other than the colors of the grips or finish of the steel?
Thanks in advance,
John

Neither the .JM or the PC version will be available in .45LC, only 45 acp.
If you have a 3" 625, and don't mind used, I would look for a 625 5" version. I have a 3" currently and used to have two 5", and I will be buying another 5" soon

That thought has crossed my mind, but I've sold everything I have had over 4 inches. I had a 627 once for 6 months and just it just didn't appeal to me. It may have been the 8 shot cylinder though.

There was a M625-6, 4-inch, .45 Colt, Mountain Gun, made in the 1996, with product code 130045. And a -6, 4-inch, .45 Colt, Mountain Gun, made in 1997, pc 100932. And another in -6 MG pc 100934 in 2000.
In 2001 there were some 4-inch -7's made in .45 Colt. They were also coded as 130045 Mountain Guns. These would of been built on the "new frame". (Hence, the new dash number change).
The Mountain Gun returned as a -9 in 2005 with product code 160932. For some reason these guns were cut for Moon Clips. These would have the new frame and the "lock".
I haven't seen a new 4-inch .45 Colt M625 since those -9's in 2005.
Bottom line, there were a fairly large number of 4-inch .45 Colt M625's made in a number of runs over a 10 year period. Seek and you will find.

The big differences between the JM and the PC in currant 4" production are the length of the cylinder and the rifling. The PC has a shorter cylinder. The resultant shorter throats supposedly help accuracy a little. The PC, interestingly, has broach cut rifling. I recently bought new models of both of these guns. I'm just beginning to experiment with reloading for them and am not seeing any difference in accuracy yet. I like the narrow, smooth trigger and the DA and SA pulls of the PC better.

1911 45,
How can I get the exact same format (with MSRPs) pages for the 327 PC M&P R8 and TRR8? When I look at the S&W web site I get a different format page without the prices.

When you find your gun on S&W web site just click on the model and it brings up the page with the info. Thats all I did hope that helps you.

Here's a photo of my 4" 625-7 Mountain Gun in .45 Colt.
It is one of my very favorite revolvers, in my favorite revolver caliber.

I have had a 5" full lug M625 in .45 ACP that I later re-barreled to a 3" FL barrel. I have also had a Mountain Gun in .45 ACP and one in .45 Colt as well.
My favorite version is the .45 ACP MG.

That is Cordia wood. The stocks are Ahrends Tacticals...bought from "Gripseller" on e-bay.
