Default S&W Trade Mark on the Left Hand side?

Earlier today, I was watching You Tube videos on disassembly/cleaning S&W Model 19 revolvers.

The videos happened to use Model 19-2 .357 revolvers, which showed the S&W Trade Mark on the right hand side of the revolver, on the cover plate.

My 19-5 has the S&W Trade Mark on the left hand side of the revolver, below the thumb piece.

Can someone tell me when S&W made the change from placing the Trade Mark on the RH side, to placing it on the LH side?

My model 19-5 serial number is AZE1304, which seems to indicate that it was shipped Jan-Jun 1988.

The logo jumps from side to side all the time. Though there does seem to be a pattern with certain frame sizes and models in certain eras. If I had to guess, I'd say since the early '80's you'd find the logo on the left side about 80% of the time, and on the right about 20%.

Performance center guns always have the pc logo on the left. So, their S&W logo has to be on the right (if there is one). From time to time I also see Smiths with the S&W logo on BOTH sides, and more far more frequently -- NO logo on either side.

Thank you, Kernel.
I was afraid that someone was going to tell me that I do not own an authentic S&W revolver.
I saw yesterday's post and photo of a Model 19-4, recently acquired by one of our Forum members. It had the Trade Mark on the RH side. I will assume that S&W changed the TM location on the Model 19, with the -5 revision.
