Default 360PD

Just got myself a 360PD. Wow, is all I can say for recoil. I was expecting it to be bad, but not this bad. All in all I can handle it well, recoil normally doesn't bother me. That being said, are there any suggestions on .357 loads? So far I've fired 50 Federal 158gr SP's and 20 UMC 125gr JSP, the latter being the worse of the two. I don't plan on shooting much .357 from it, but when I do, I'd like to try sticking to the least "eventful" loads possible. I carry Gold Dot 135gr short barrel, which are great but way too expensive to use at the range.

The gun is a dream to carry. I can't believe it took me this long to pick one up.

Yup the lack of mass causes a pretty healthy recoil impulse. Conditioning (self-inflicted punishment?) helps by just going out and shooting it at the end of a range day. It gets easier every time.

I keep mine loaded with Hornady 158gr XTP factory ammunition. 125gr Critical Defense ammo isn't terrible as far as 'eventfulness'.

+P .38 Spl loads seem very docile in comparison to Magnums in a scandium frame revolver.

Speer Gold Dot SB (short barrel) 135 gr .357 shoots well out of my M60. It's still gonna smack like hell in he 360PD. Or, try Speer Got Dot .38+P 125 grain.

Give the Remington Golden Sabers(125gr 357 Magnums) a try.

Yep! Sending a 125 grain bullet At 1300fps out of a 11oz revolver is going to hurt.

I recommend .38 specials. And I even prefer steel frame Js for them!

Again, for the umpteenth time , CCI Blazer .357Mag 158gr JHP. I had retired my old (from 2001) 360Sc, the forerunner to the PD model. Recoil was brutal and damaging to the web of my hand. Recently, I tried the above load, which I use often. Recoil was "noticeable" but controllable. It is a medium load; another poster reports 990fps in a 3" bbl.

Just tried this load in my new 340 M&P fly-weight. Delightful, controllable with the factory boot-type grip. Give it a shot.
