Default 60 no dash question?

is it safe to fire +P ammo in this revolver? I have several boxes Of remington 125 grain sjhp that I use for practice with my 60-14 and wanted to be sure.

If you are referring to using .38 Special +P in your .357 model 60-14, then yes...a mild load compared to a full 125 gr .357.

The no dash pre-dates the +P spec, so I'd advise using very gingerly if at all.

I suggest a later version if you want to shoot them regularly.

I spoke DIRECTLY with S&W customer service about my no dash model 60. They said it is NOT made to handle +P ammo and recommended against using it.

In my mind, doing anything other than following their recommendation means that I only have myself to blame if the gun is damaged by shooting +P...even if it's only a few rounds.

If you feel the risk is worth it then go ahead, but I won't shoot +p out of a revolver that doesn't say +P on the gun.

I got the same response several years ago from CS when I sent this 60 no-dash square-butt back for a repair.

Based on that conversation, I limit mine to non +P ammo.
