M60-7 Ladysmith Purchased Today
I think I stole this one but can't date it. The SN is BRW03XX which is not in the book. It's a bit newer than most of the Smiths that I collect, but it had all the right stuff. . .no MIM, no lock, no rubber grips, no floating firing pin, and all stainless steel. It appears to have never been fired. We get a lot of guns like that around here. . .bought and never shot. It was dirty from storage and has a few light blemishes from maybe being thrown in a car or a drawer for a while. I'd give it a 95% pretty easy since it did clean up really nice. I'm guessing around 1990 since it has the satin stainless steel finish and is a 60-7. Any experts out there who can date the SN? Oh yeah, I did pay $325 which is a lot less than the new ones so I'm not in it for much.

It's a late 1994 or early 95 gun.

Got to live in Middle Georgia and Milledgeville is a good place to hunt for Smiths. Right now everybody is buying hunting rifles making handguns slow. Also the big fair in Perry hits in two weeks which will render almost everybody broke for at least a month. In addition, a lot of guns are sold or pawned around here to free up money to go the fair. This is what all the LGS and Pawn Shop owners tell me anyway. Macon is a good place to hunt for guns too.

That's a good buy. Typically in GA I've seen these going in the 500 - 600 range.
Nice grab there.

IMHO the M60-7 (and M60-7 LS) is the BEST M60 Smith ever made! Yes, you stole it!! Has all the REAL improvements and NONE of the detriments. You should be very happy.

I didn't know until this morning that this is the "best" M60 ever made and a rather short production run to boot. I bought it rather blindly. I need to cut bigger eye holes in my ski mask so I can see what I'm getting a little better. Maybe I'll give to my wife to carry. . .nah just kidding.

REASONS WHY"
1) Specifically heat treated for +P AMMO (first time).
2) 1/8" wide front sight rather than the older 1/10"
3) smooth wider trigger
4) NO MIM castings on any parts
5) NO integral cylinder retaining glob on left side of frame
6) Solid barrels - NO liners
7) NO internal lock
8) REAL walnut grips - not the fagazy Altamonts or rubber
9) IMHO much better workmanship, fit & finish

The Ladysmith (your specific gun) has the solid Rosewood grips instead of Walnut. PLUS. . . . . . . you get to tell all your buddy's down at the Range that you have plenty of confidence in yourself so you have no problems carrying the Ladysmith

I believe the Lady Smith versions also had some factory action work for a smoother and lighter trigger. Can anyone confirm this?

I have had standard and Lady Smith K frames and the LS definitely had a lighter/smoother trigger pull; no experience with the J frames.

My Ladysmith is a 60-14 .357. Has all the modern hindrances. All I can tell is that the DA is wonderful.
