325sc shooting pics
I did a little shooting today with the 325sc. Mostly I was using it for a match on another forum which involved hitting one inch circles, five rows of five, at 3,5,7,9 and 12yrds. Pretty difficult, especially in a dimly lit indoor range.
I used Magtech 230gr ball...it's a bit milder than typical defense loaded jhp stuff, probably mid to high 700fps range in this gun vs Win Ranger T which holds mid 800fps range-which is good velocity from a short barrel. So recoil is stiff, but not painful.
While I didn't get the highest score, I came pretty close.
With my remaining ammo, I rolled off some fast six shot groups at 5 and 7yrds, along with a slow SA group at the maximum 50ft distance at this range.
Despite being 21 or 22oz and silly light for a .45acp, it shoots very well accuracy-wise. Recoil borders on painful with real defense ammo, but tolerable with generic range ammo like this Magtech stuff. Trigger is crisp and approx 4lbs SA, a little stiffer DA than my other non moonclipped N frame (629-5) despite the lightweight titanium cylinder...about 11-12lbs.
It has acquired some 'crinkle' to the clearcoat over the years, but whatthehey, it adds character.

Nice shooting. I have the 325sc also & I agree with your statements about it. Mine has the best/lightest SA/DA pull of my N frames. I took the original Ahrends off & put tactical fingergroove ones on. I shoot mine with a glove (not a shooting glove) that dampens the recoil on my 61 year old hands. I liked it so much I recently bought a 325pd 4" that I find a little easier to shoot. I have never had a light strike or crimp jump to this day. I believe there are only 300 of the sc's so they should hold their value but I'm not selling mine as long as I'm around.

You're not the only one wearing gloves to the range. The company I work for now requires gloves 100%. My hands have turned into pansy hands. I bought fingerless weight lifting gloves for when I take the 44s to the range. Keeps me from being a blood donor!!

Iwish Smith would reintroduce the 325 both as a snub and as a 4". Didn't have the money when they came around the first time.

That's a nice gun!
The wood grips look nice too but they aren't helping with felt recoil. I try to remember to take my Badger grips off & put the factory Pachmyar Compac Custom grips back on my 325NG when I go to shoot 45 Super (185 JHP w/11.3gr Power Pistol) in it. Forgot once. Ouch!
.
It's a nice light show anyway.
