Default Any 681 No Dash guys?

Did any of the earlier no dash 681's have the S&W logo on the right side of the gun like my 686 & 629?

My 681 no dash also has the logo on the right side. I would post a photograph, but my computer is down, and I am using a tablet, which will not let me post a photograph. I really like my 681, it was purchased a year before the crisis, and it cost me $325, and is in excellent condition.

The logo on my no dash is on the left side under the cylinder release.

Default I HAD TO GO LOOK.

I thought it was on the right, but nope, it's on the left below the cylinder latch also. Sorry I can't post pics either & mine is mis-marked. The stamping in the crane area is exactly MOD. 68-1, I'm hoping that makes it a 681 no dash. The ser # is AEA83**, if anyone wants to burst my bubble. Yes it looks exactly like other 681's pictured minus the nice wood grips. I wish mine had the wider target style hammer The rubber Hogue monogrip works better for me with hand splints. Nice guns 307 but they aren't 681's, so isn't that a bit of apples vs oranges?

If some of the earlier 681's had the logo on the right, I will probably hold out & wait to find one of them to add to my collection. Most 686's also have the logo on the left, but my 686 is very a early serial number AAB. All of my No Dash stainless magnums have the logo on the right side, not the left.

Thank you for posting. A pic would be great if you could possibly email it to me? I will send you a PM.

Might I ask what your 681 serial number prefix is? Just the letters.

I have both a 681 and a 581 with the right-side logo. I'll post a picture later today. I think both serial numbers start with AAA but I'll check that also.

Here's my 681 no dash with logo on the left. Serial is ABD63XX and dates to Oct-Dec 1982.

Here's a couple quick cell phone pics. Need to clean it up, but here it is. Looks like an early one, has an AAE serial number, and has the S&W logo on the right. I'm pretty happy to have found this version after a long search.
