There have been several 5" model 29s produced, so photos would help. A recent production gun may be $750 and one from the '50s - '60s may be $3000+ with the original box and contents.
Edit to add: if this is the same gun on which you posted in 5/2013 ( ), it is probably worth $1200 or so in the current market, perhaps higher to someone filling a specific spot in their .44 collection.

Here are the photos. The product code is 101249 and it was completed (ready to ship) on 6/22/1989 per the 9173 Special Order code. Others will be along with more comments. Very nice!

My notes say S&W made 500 of these p.c. 101249 M29-4's in this configuration with the unfluted cylinder.

If the condition is LNIB, I believe it is worth $1100 to $1250. If 98% drop it to $850.

There was one like that in excellent condition listed on GB starting at $999 with no reserve. No mention of box/paperwork. It didn't sell. Looks like a nice gun.

Basically, as a shooter, what any similar 5-inch M29 from that era would sell for in your area. It's not a Performance Center gun, nor is it pinned and recessed. The only thing special about it is the unfluted cylinder, which is kinda cool but not everyone's cup of tea. Having the box and papers adds at least $100 and makes it a candidate for anyone who collects M29 variations.

Does the fact that there where only 500 of them made not add any value at all Kernel?

Here’s my “Hill Country” 29-4, #BDS27XX.
I bought it a couple of years ago with correct grips, box & docs for $875, and I was happy to get it for that price. I figured it was a $1000 package, but it all depends on who wants to buy it.
The “Classic” guns are similar, but have interchangeable front sights, whereas the “Hill Country” guns have pinned front sights.
