Why can't I find a black leather .500 4" belt holster?
I know the pistol is quite heavy, and that a bunch of guys will try to say it ain't worth it to open-carry a .500 on your belt, but I still want to have the option at some point should the proper occasion ever arise. I have an Uncle Mike's canvas holster for it, and can easily get a chest bandolier, but I want a belt holster for it as well. I've been on every leather holster site from Galco to Safariland to Savoy to DeSantis to friggin' Cabelas. Nothing. X frame belt holsters are available but I can't find one in black leather.
Any help from the experts?

Put a 'Want to buy' ad here in the classifieds section. We have several talented members here who make things like that.

Your location is a secret, but a number of LGS' in Houston have them - I believe including Collector's Firearms.

Rob at Simply Rugged Holsters will build you one. I'm sure there are others but check out His Sourdough Pancake.

If you are near Olmsted Falls, Ohio, Crooked River Leather can make it. He would need the gun to wet mold it. He is a small Co. And doesn't have the Blue Guns.

I have an El Paso Saddlery #77 in black for my 4" M500.
El Paso Saddlery - Strongside
ETA:
Having owned both them (but not for the 500), I might add that Mernickle and Simply Rugged do make nice holsters.

Good luck with a belt holster. I got a leg/belt holster just to use for a few days during hunting season. I wore it for one day and for the next two days I had raised and bruised welts on both of my hips. This was with the leg straps taking some of the weight off of my belt.
I will never use this holster again and will be getting a leather across the chest holster for next year.
Good luck, I hope it works out for you.

Ditto that! Perhaps the reason that no one makes such a thing is because no one wants such a thing. Smart vendors don't make things in which very few potential customers express an interest.

Its been several years but when I ordered the EPS holster, I sent it back as it didn't anywhere near fit. I was told mine was the first 500 they'd made.
EPS took care of it though and made a nice holster that fits perfect.
I do like the looks of the sourdough holster posted. I've seen them with a strap but not a thumb break.

Jack, I can make you one if you want something unique. I have some examples of my work if you care to see them. I am not a professional holsters maker by any means but recently I made one for my Model 629 with scoped 8" barrel that turned out very nice.
