Default Grip advice

Upon suggestion of a very wise member, I arrive here in need some grip suggestions, recommendations for a set of target grips similar to the dimensions that would have come on a 29-2. I just acquired a 29-10 and the stock wood factory grips are considerably thinner than older 29 grips. These look nice and feel good in the hand, initially, but are inadequate with full house magnum loads: i.e. skinny grips and sharp checkering. I've looked at Amazon, eBay, S&W, MidwayUSA and other sites who have grips but descriptions are a bit lacking. I'd prefer to bypass rubber grips(Ugh!) but might have to slap a pair of Goodyears on it until I can sufficiently lurk at enough gunshots to, hopefully, find what I think I want. I've never really had an S&W grip problem so I hope I can get some help here. Thanks in advance.

My 25-15 came with the slimmer target grips. They look nice, but I put some 80's factory target grips on it. Felt better to me and improved accuracy. My 28 has Herrett target grips on it. Work well for me. Bob

If shooting the gun is more important to you than looking at it, get a pair of Pachmayr Gripper or Decelerator grips. They cover the backstrap and are effective at taming high recoil guns.
