Default 29-6 44 magnum 8 3/8 inch

Found a clean 29-6 8 3/8 inch 44 magnum, nice polished bluing and lock up, S&W rubber grips but think wood ones would look better.

Nice snag. I agree with you on the grips, that hogleg needs some fancy shoes! Congrats.

I must ask, how does the balance feel. I had an 8 3/8 full underlug that was barrel heavy. Got rid of it due to that. Been wanting to get another soon.

Feels heavier than the 6 or 6 1/2 inch N's but not that much different. Gun is more unwieldly though than a shorter barrel, easier to bump the barrel into something. Had a 10 1/2 inch model with the adjustable front sight and that was a sandbag gun

Nice looking .44 and would certainly be in need of different stocks if mine.

Nill makes some really nice grips for both square- and round-butt N-frames. Might give them a look. That gun deserves a quality set of stocks.

Congrats on the new sixgun!

Thanks for the tip looked up the Nill grips and they look very nice but am thinking of not spending that much on aftermarket grips. Have been happy with Altamont grips in the past for some S & W revolvers and a Walther P1

This is a picture of the Altamont rosewood grip I like in a N frame ordered this grip with the S & W logo option for $58.10 delivered

A -6! Don't think I've ever run across one before with that length barrel.
