From a LGS, I think that's a pretty good price. You could get more if you sold it yourself. A LGS can't pay near retail and stay in business for long.

As a rule a thumb a gun shop will usually offer 50% of what they might sell it for (give or take). That's been my experience, anyway. Is it the kind of LGS that would try to sell such a gun for $1,000?

Is that cash, or store credit?

I just check Gun Broker Completed Auctions. One like yours just sold for $1,195 with the "Buy it Now" option. Which means it wasn't bid up in a wild auction, with two guys having a p*****g contest. Someone just looked at it and said, "Heck, yeah! I'll pay that."

Look at the label, there's a "SA" feature code. IINM that means it's is Single Action only. Those were special target guns.

Based on this, I can see why the LGS was so generous in their offer. It looks like a legit thousand plus dollar gun.

I have a 14-3. Bought in August of 2014. No box , just gun. ($410 shipped on G.B.) It is an accurate beauty though. I would be all over the example you are looking at if mechanically sound. Let us know how you make out! Bob

That's a great price for my area! Don't walk but run and pick it up. If not let me know where it is and I will e-mail them and buy it!

Kernel is right! Those single action guns are uncommon. An LGS here has had one out with the box for sale for over a year. It's apparently a slow mover at the price of $1K or higher around here. . .evidenced by the fact that I haven't bought the thing. Still, I sure wouldn't sell it for $500. I'd be a buyer at that price.

They way I took it, the gun isn't FOR SALE for $500. That's what the LGS is OFFERING the OP for the gun. The OP already has the gun. Would you sale off a limited production $1,000 gun for $500? If so, I want to be your friend, because I wouldn't.
