Default Model 637 (no dash) [Pics]

Found this 637 (no dash) this afternoon. It is 1 of 560 and only made in 1989, uncatalogued. Clear anodized finish, stainless cylinder and barrel, pin on hammer, no MIM, .38 special. It looks stainless...it is not the frosted finish. I believe this was an Ellett Brothers special run, just like the 638 (no dash). Found at a local gun shop today. Very good condition, no box. The 637-1 was introduced years later, in 1996, and with numerous engineering changes.

Going to keep it but curious about value. Never seen another one like it...even though there should be another 559 floating around.

Anyone else have a 637 (no dash)? If so, post pics.

NOTE - Original pictures deleted because Photobucket broke the links.

I see I'm a bit late on this post, but I'm new to the forum. I was trying to figure out if they made a 637 in the prelock days. It appears yours is, but if I Google 637 no dash, I can see it but if I click on the picture stupid photo bucket won't let me view it unless I spend 400 bucks a year on an account which I will not do. Soooo, on here I can't see them at all. When was your's made?? Also, do you know if they made a square butt version??

The 637(no dash) was a limited run of about 500 made in 1989. No lock. No MIM. I'll post another picture later. Of note, it has a clear anodized frame. Not coated like current production. Better pics to follow later.

All 637(no dash) had round butt. I think all 637 are RB.

That's a hell of a lot better looking gun than the 637-1 that I had.
The -1 is the only gun known that can have the finish peel off sitting new and un-fired in a climate controlled safe.

That looks so much better than the gray "paint" or whatever it is S&W is using now.

No, not quite, my 342Ti is the other one. It is the only one of my guns whose ClearKote finish peeled off from using GunScrubber to flush out the insides, and I have used this spray on all my firearms w/o problem.

Maybe come out to the Mojave Desert where dish towels are unknown and perspiration is a misdemeanor.

I believe that the 637 (no dash) was just this limited run in round butt. Same with the 638 (no dash).
