Nice!! That's a good looking barrel/porting job. That'll be a handful putting magnum loads down range. I'm anxious to see the combats you have for it. Congrats.

Beautiful. Looks like a Jovino style M 25. I think it would make a great carry piece.

That's sweet.
I agree with DevilDog. It looks like a Jovino or Behlert custom which are very desirable N frames. Someone with more knowledge will be along shortly.

Nice revolver, a beauty. And I really, really hope you never have to fire it from a retention position close to your body.

Ha. The box is not with gun and even if it were the Mini mag guns weren't labeled as such from MagNaPort.

Great looking gun, I really like the work Magnaport puts out.
Did it get the deep muzzle crown treatment?

The Combat Mini is a package but it is still a custom job, you can pick and choose different things as you want/need. For instance, if your 629 was already a round butt gun (post '96) there wouldn't be any reason to round butt it, the main difference between the K/L and N frame grip frame is in the thickness and width at the top, not the portion you actually hold on to. Also, your barrel crown is different from the usual Mag-na-port crown, it is more like the original, I'd assume it was ordered that way since the barrel would have been cut and a recrown necessary. Real nice gun, congrats.
Per the Mag-na-port site this is what the current Combat Mini package consists of-
Combat Mini .44 Magnum Conversion
A 2 ½" or 3" Conversion only
A custom design for maximum concealability, using a Smith & Wesson 29, 629, 25 or 57 or on any N-Frame revolver. Rework grip frame to round butt k-frame; Mag-Na-Port process; Cut and crown barrel, furnish and remount Baughman front sight; Installation of front locking device; Colored front sight insert, yellow or red; Combat trigger conversion; Semi-bob hammer; Fine tune action. Velvet Hone Finish.
This is my M29-2 Combat Mini, the gun is from 1980, the conversion was done in '93-'94

I am revisiting the idea of having one of my N frames treated to a Magnaport nose job. Likely my 6.5" 610-1. Anyone know if they can re-use the quick release front sight found on the Classic models?

That’s a good question. Re-use, probably not. The base is integral with the barrel and machining away the rest of the barrel to re-use the base (if you want it pinned or dovetailed) would likely be pretty expensive. But… I think at one time Bowen Classic Arms was selling a “DX Base” that might work on your project. If you supplied the base, maybe you could get Magnaport to install it?

629-4 Performance Center Magna-port 3”
Here is my recently acquired 3 3/8” 629-4 Performance Center Magna-port revolver I recently acquired. I posted this gun before but fits in this thread. This gun came with original rubber grips and I added the Culina Black Walnut grips. Going to get it lettered next week. S&W told me it is 1 of 50.

Be interesting to hear what .44 Special feels like through that revolver.

If you open the cylinder and find a ball-decent on the crane, I believe you have a Jovino modified gun. I am unsure if Behlert did the same mod.
If I recall, there was also a modified .44 N Frame called “The Sentinel”. I am unsure of the gunsmith, however.

There were also 44 magnum Jovinos built on other brands of revolvers.
